Come to Hudson for the Holidays

Kick off the holiday shopping season with a trip to Hudson on the day after Thanksgiving. Special events begin at 2 PM.

More than 85 unique shops, restaurants and places to stay offer every visitor the chance to enjoy holiday shopping at a more relaxed pace! Shopkeepers go the extra mile to make sure you find what you need, and our old-fashioned friendliness and helpfulness take the stress out of the holidays.

    * Luminarias will be lit about 4:30, turning downtown into a magical fairyland.
    * At Keller Williams/Chervenic Realty, 2-4 PM, catch a special appearance by Santa and his elves in Santa's Village (148 N. Main) just before he crosses Main Street to lead the Celebration of Lights & Caroling at the Gazebo at 5 PM.
    * Carolers are encouraged to gather just before 5 PM, bringing along flashlights or battery-powered lanterns and jingle bells. Booklets of carols will be distributed. The lights on the massive pine trees on the Village Green will 'magically' come on during the caroling, led by Santa and the Western Reserve Community Band.
    * Hattie's Cafe (164 N. Main St.) invites all carolers to come in for cookies & hot chocolate after the Celebration of Lights & Caroling is over.

Merchants all over town will be serving refreshments, having drawings, specials, music and more. For example:

If you have never experienced this long-standing Hudson tradition, you are in for a treat. Carols by many groups, including area Girl Scouts, the Western Reserve Community Band, and ACT... a children's theater.

First & Main - Sunday, Dec. 8th, 1-3 PM: Radio Disney teams up with Toys for Tots and multiple charities across its network of 24 stations for its third annual "FESTIVAL OF GIVING," encouraging kids and families to help others this holiday season. Radio Disney will have music, games and prizes for families - and encourage the local community to bring a new and unused toy for donation.

Green Roots Collection is providing each of the families that received a home through the efforts of Habitat for Humanity of Summit County a Holiday Wreath and Turkey Dinner. Green Roots invites everyone to come in during the Holiday Walk (Sunday, Dec. 8, noon to 5) to help create the ornaments that will be placed on these wreaths. All the supplies will be provided to create the ornaments. There will also be light refreshments.

My Little Red Wagon - During the Holiday Walk and Come to Hudson for the Holidays events, we will donate 10% of our store sales to Access Women and Children's shelter in Akron.
